Growing up with a father who was an owner/operator in the construction industry, I had a front-row seat to the world of construction from an early age. Summers were spent working as a laborer to earn money for college, where I dreamed of becoming a “horse girl.” Little did I know, I would fall in love with construction instead!
After two years working as a laborer, a Texas Aggie Alumni recognized my Aggie roots and offered me a life-changing opportunity as an assistant construction manager. That role launched a fulfilling career in construction management, spanning over a decade. Life’s twists and turns—including the joy of raising two wonderful boys and navigating personal challenges—eventually led me to a new calling: teaching construction management at the local community college.
For over 18 years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching more than 4,000 students about the dynamic field of construction management.
